Mike Nelson - Tenor

Mike says gospel music has been in his blood as long as he can remember.  His dad, Bill Nelson sang with The Swanee River Boys while he was growing up.  When Bill Carver, Buford and Merle Abner retired from The Swanee River Boys, he and his brothers Chris, Marc took their places singing with their dad as The Young Sound of The Swanee River Boys, then changed the name to The Nelson Four.  They had the privilege to sing back up vocals for Jean Shepard on the Grand Ole Opry.

Mike's dad sang with David Reece and The New Rangers Trio until David's death and in 2006 his dad passed on the Rangers name to Mike.  Mike said that being a Rangers Trio fan since he was young, it was the greatest honor that could have happened to him.

After being out of gospel music for several years, Mike says its a great privilege to now have the chance to start again with the gospel group he dreamed of singing with when he was young.

Bobby Wilson - Baritone

Bobby Wilson was born and raised and has made his home near Portland, TN all his life.  He was blessed to start his career in Gospel Music at about 10 years old, singing solos and playing guitar in area churches.  Since then he has sung with such groups as the Bradley Family, The Harmony Masters, The Beacons and The Royals.  He now makes his new home with The Rangers.  Bobby feels blessed to be in the  service of God and hopes through his talents that many might find their way to Christ.

Rick Bradley - Bass

Rick was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and came back home to Tennessee with his parents when he was only two weeks old.  His father, Jesse Bradley began his own Southern Gospel career with his mother and three younger brothers in the 1940’s as the Bradley Brothers Quartet.  In later years, Rick and his two sisters were brought up in similar fashion and began singing in the late 1960’s as the Bradley Family.  Bobby Wilson, current baritone singer for the Rangers was soon added as a young baritone/lead singer and remained with the family group for several years.  After being absent from singing for several years, Rick accepted the call to sing bass with StateLine Quartet and continued to do so for several years.  Now, singing with the Rangers, he looks forward to renewing old friendships from years past.  It is his prayer that he might offer a spoken word or a verse of a song that might plant a seed in someone’s heart and possibly lead them to Jesus Christ.

 Jason Floyd, Lead

Jason’s interest in gospel music started at a very early age when a group known as the Cathedral Quartet first began their journey in southern gospel.  Being an associate pastor of the Cathedral of Tomorrow, Jason’s father, Thomas B. Floyd would take Jason and his brother, Bill backstage where he would sing along while the Cathedrals were on-stage performing. As time passed, Jason and his brother formed their own group “Legacy” and would travel and sing for several years.  To further his education, Jason graduated from the University of Southern Florida with a major in music while receiving an AA degree.  In 1996, Jason met his lovely wife, Cathy and they were married in 2000.  They have been blessed with three talented daughters, Jaelyn, Rachael and Alyssa. The family moved to Nashville in 2008 and, being related to the Hinsons, Jason soon found himself singing on-stage with family once again.  Finally, in 2012 he joined the Rangers, singing classic gospel songs that depict and provide the moral fibers that we all grew up singing about.

 Larry Biggs, Keyboard

Larry Biggs has been involved in Southern Gospel Music for most of his life. He began playing a small chord organ at about five years old and then moved on to play an accordion at church, nursing homes, baptismal services at the creek, and such. At twelve years old, he took up bass guitar as well as playing around with the old "flat-top six". At about fourteen years old, he played piano and sang with a group of the Biggs and Briley families called The Halltown Harmoneers. After graduating from Portland High School he studied music at Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tennessee. This is where Larry and Mike Nelson first met and became friends. Since then he has played piano, bass guitar, and some rhythm guitar with a few familiar names like The Bradley Family, The New Sunshine Boys, and Greater Desire. He, along with his three sons, began a work that, over a few years, grew to be StateLine Quartet. Two of those sons, Duane and Andy, answered God’s call to proclaim the Word through preaching and both now serve as Pastors. Tim, Larry's youngest, still feels his call is to minister through Christian music. Larry now plays, sings, and writes for The Rangers Quartet. Instilled in his heart from childhood is a burning love for church and songs of the Gospel but a personal "born again" experience is why it has continued to burn for so many years. "God uses the music to move me" says Larry. Sometimes he fights back the tears and sometimes the tears win out as a song touches his heart. "They’re good tears though." So not only does he feel the call to perform and minister through song but he is also a true Southern Gospel fan. Larry lives in the New Deal community of Cottontown, Tennessee with his wife, Lynn.
